The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, and the sub-delegate of the Government in Málaga, Javier Salas, visited El Playazo beach this morning where the Government of Spain is executing works amounting to 70,000 euros aimed at expanding the sandy area of beach in 7,000 square meters, also recovering the easement of transit.
The councilor has valued the performance, highlighting that "when the administrations row in the same direction, in a coordinated manner and in an atmosphere of absolute loyalty, the projects go ahead", and has thanked the dialogue attitude of the Government sub-delegate, Javier Salas, and the role played by the head of the Coastal Demarcation, Ángel González, the councilors for Urbanism and Beaches, and the municipal and Coastal technicians in promoting this important project.
In addition, Armijo has urged the Government of Spain to execute once and for all the construction of breakwaters on Torrecilla beach for its stabilization. ?A claim raised from this City Council to the different Governments of Spain for 28 years. The City Council is making a significant effort to free sand from said beach by building some toilet and rescue modules under the current promenade, but once and for all we need to carry out the construction of said breakwaters.
For his part, the sub-delegate of the Government in Malaga, has highlighted "the collaboration of the City Council and its mediation, through the Department of Urbanism, with the owners to be able to recover the area of transit easement and achieve a better stretch of beach, which which is an example of collaboration between administrations to improve public spaces. The execution of this work also represents an investment for tourism in Nerja, so that it can have better beaches and better services?.
