Nerja will celebrate its fair normally again after the forced two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, from October 8 to 12. The festivities will start next Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with the proclamation by the Senior Choir 'Con otro aire' on the Balcón de Europa and the gala for the Queen and the Knight, at 10:30 p.m. in the municipal booth located in the Los Huertos de Carabeo fairgrounds, where the patron saint festivities have been celebrated since 2001.

Every day there will be children's and musical performances on the Balcón de Europa and in the Caseta El Cortijo that will liven up the day. In addition, Los Secretos will perform on the 9th, the Granada-born Chema Rivas on the 10th, the Cadiz-born El Selu on the 11th and the Orquesta La Tentación will close on the 12th of October. The performances are at 11:00 p.m. from 9 to 11 and at 10:00 p.m. on the 12th. On the 9th, the Queen and Knight for Children and Senior Citizens will be elected. On the 10th at 8:00 p.m., the mass will take place in honor of the patron saints, San Miguel Arcángel and the Virgen de Las Angustias, in the church of El Salvador and, immediately afterwards, the procession through the streets with the traditional fireworks display .

The elderly will receive their traditional tribute on the 11th with lunch at the municipal booth, where the 'Grandparents of Nerja 2022' Awards will be presented and Laura Gallego will perform. Finally, on the 12th, religious acts will be held in honor of the Virgen del Pilar, patron saint of the Civil Guard, which will take place at 11:00 in the church of El Salvador, on the Balcón de Europa.
