Nerja increases its population to 21,450 inhabitants

Nerja, December 24, 2022.-

The population of Nerja continues to increase and stands at 21,450 registered people compared to the 21,018 inhabitants of the previous year. By gender, women, with 10,921, outnumber men, who add up to a total of 10,529.

This is reflected in the latest data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE) as of January 1, 2022. Nerja thus remains the third municipality on the Eastern Costa del Sol-Axarquía in number of inhabitants.

"More and more people are establishing their residence in Nerja, attracted by the quality of life they find", highlighted the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, noting that this increase in population confirms that Nerja is an ideal municipality to live, work and enjoy.
