New ecological islands to improve waste collection management

The Councilor for Municipal Services, Gema García, has appeared this morning together with the coordinator of Municipal Services, David Román, and the cleaner, Roberto García, to announce that the City Council continues to work to improve waste collection spaces, to what has been carried out the construction of seven new ecological islands in different parts of the municipality with a municipal investment of 17,676.76 euros.

Thus, the councilor has visited the new ecological island located in Plaza España, which is intended to improve waste collection management in the downtown area. "We recently made two new islands available to the establishments and residents of Pintada, Hernando de Carabeo and Almirante Ferrandiz streets, which have contributed to giving the area a better tourist image, reinforcing cleaning and promoting recycling," explained Gema García , who details that this new equipment in Plaza de España will serve the shops on Calle Cruz and Ánimas, as well as any neighbor who wants to deposit their garbage in them.

Likewise, the councilor stressed that "we have not only acted in the center of the municipality, six new ecological islands have been enabled in the Sub-4 area, near the Fuente del Badén Phases 1 and 2 urbanizations, to provide a better service as far as waste collection is concerned ?.

Gema García ended by thanking the neighbors for their collaboration in maintaining the cleanliness of the municipality, remembering that ?the Municipal Cleaning Ordinance that establishes the allowed deposit hours must be respected, the garbage must always go in properly closed bags. and in no case staining the public thoroughfare during their transfer ?.
