Nerja, June 15, 2021.-
This morning the Councilor for Beaches, María del Carmen López, participated in the Caleta de Vélez Port in the presentation of the cleaning service for surface water on the coast of Algarrobo, Vélez Málaga, Torrox and Nerja, which begins today and it will last until September 15, with a dozen boats. The event, organized by the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol-Axarquía, the entity that provides the service, was attended by its president, the beach councilor, and beach councilors from the municipalities that receive the service.
During her speech, María del Carmen López highlighted the commitment that municipalities make to this joint service. "It is very important that our beaches are clean," says López, emphasizing "the great work that has been done since last year so that the beaches of our literal are safe for their users."
The service will be held in Nerja every day, including Sundays and holidays, June and September from eleven in the morning to seven in the afternoon, and July and August from ten in the morning to six in the afternoon. The vessels will be in charge of collecting floating debris, creams, hydrocarbons, foams and jellyfish on the coast throughout the summer. They are of the "foreña" type, with a collection capacity of at least 5,500 liters per hour.
