The pilots of the Nerja Motonautical Sports Club have shone in the first round of the Spanish Jet Ski Championship and the second round of the Andalusian Championship, taking the top positions on the podium. The sporting event was held this past weekend in the Malaga town of Benalmádena.
The runner-up in the World and European champion, Ismael Rojas, managed to take second place in the Runabout GP2 absolute category and third place in the Yamaha Waverunner Cup. Kiko Aguilera, also from Nerja, reached third place in both the Jet GP3 and Superjet Cup categories.
The club's riders, Adrián Albuera, Eva Vega, Jesús Cabello and Jonathan Martín also obtained good results in this Championship. Albuera managed to get on the podium in second position in GP4 and GP2 Promotion, and Caballero in third position in GP4. Vega reached the third position in GP0 and Martín took fourth position in the also in GP0.
In the junior category, Sandro Aguilera from Nerja was proclaimed runner-up in Spain in the Jet GP3 JR and Superjet Cup JR categories. For his part, his brother, Diego Aguilera, reached fourth position.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, and the Councilor for Sports, Daniel Rivas, have congratulated the drivers for the victories obtained in these first tests of the season. "For the City Council it is a pride that our motorboat club achieves sporting success taking the name of Nerja to the highest level at a national level", said the councilor.
