The pilots of the Nerja Motonautics Sports Club have triumphed in the Spanish Jet Ski Championship and the King's Cup that took place this past weekend in the Murcian town of Mazarrón.
The runner-up in the World and European champion, Ismael Rojas, managed to win gold in the GP2 category and silver in GP0, also remaining runner-up in the Copa del Rey in both categories. For his part, Kiko Aguilera managed to win the Yamaha SuperjetCup Cup.
The club's riders, Jesús Cabello, Adrian Albuera and Eva Vega, also obtained good results in this competition. Cabello won gold in the GP4 category, Albuera silver in GP4 and third in the Copa del Rey, and Vega managed to win the Yamaha SuperjetCup in the women's category and won gold in GP0 Fem.
In the junior category, Sandro Aguilera from Nerja was proclaimed runner-up in Spain in the Jet GP3 JR category, the Copa del Rey and in the Yamaha Superjetcup. For his part, his brother, Diego Aguilera, reached the third position in the three tests.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, and the Councilor for Sports, Daniel Rivas, congratulated the riders for their victories in this championship. "For the City Council it is a pride that our motorboat club achieves sporting success taking the name of Nerja to the highest level at a national level", said the councilman.
